Telephone numbers in Ascension Island

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from +247)

Country Code: +247
International Call Prefix: 00

Ascension Island does not share the same country code (+290) with the rest of St Helena.

Sure South Atlantic stopped providing telecommunications services on Ascension Island on 28 February 2026, following the expiry of its public telecommunications licence. Ascension Island Mobile (AIM), the new government owned operator, launched its mobile service in March 2026. The changeover caused a temporary disruption to international telephone and SMS services, with callers in some locations unable to reach Ascension Island numbers while international routing arrangements were reestablished. The international routes to numbers using the code were temporarily unavailable or unreliable during the transition. [1][2]
