Format

edit

The league had a split-season format. The regular season had a double round robin schedule, with each team playing the other seven teams twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 14 matches each. After that, the top four teams qualified for a championship playoff, and the bottom four teams played a placement playoff. Each group also played a double round robin format, with each team playing the three other teams in its cohort twice, for a total of 6 matches each. Points accumulated in the regular season were halved and added to the points of the playoff stage rounds for the final standings. There was neither relegation nor promotion, and the top two teams qualified for the 2021–22 UEFA Women's Champions League.[1][2]
