2022–23 Carolina Hurricanes season

The 2022–23 Carolina Hurricanes season was the 44th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established in June 1979, and 25th season since the franchise relocated from the Hartford Whalers to start the 1997–98 NHL season. The Hurricanes qualified for the playoffs on March 23, 2023, after the Florida Panthers lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs.[2][3] In the playoffs, the Hurricanes defeated the New York Islanders in six games in the First Round,[4] followed by a convincing five game series win over the New Jersey Devils in the Second Round[5] before being swept in four games by the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Finals.[6]
