Initiative Measure No. 2066 (I-2066) is a ballot initiative in the U.S. state of Washington that appeared on the ballot on November 5, 2024. The initiative was brought to the state legislature by a petition sponsored by political action committee Let's Go Washington and the Building Industry Association of Washington.[2] The initiative repealed provisions in a new state law, House Bill 1589, intended to accelerate Puget Sound Energy's transition away from natural gas. Supports of the initiative claimed it would lower costs and allow homeowners to freely determine what kind of energy they could use without government interference, while opponents of the initiative claimed it to be unconstitutional and that it would contribute to climate change and halt efforts for electrification.[3]
