The ambassador and his staff work at large in the Embassy of Russia in Luanda.[3] The post of Russian Ambassador to Angola is currently held by Vladimir Tararov , incumbent since 23 May 2017.[4] Since 1992 the ambassador to Angola has had dual accreditation to São Tomé and Príncipe.
History of diplomatic relations
editDiplomatic relations at the mission level between the Soviet Union and Angola were first established in November 1975.[5] The first ambassador, Boris Vorobyov , was appointed on 3 March 1976, and presented his credentials on 16 April 1976.[5] With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Soviet ambassador, Yury Kapralov , continued as representative of the Russian Federation until 1995.[5]
