About

edit

NAOC is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, which coordinates forty similar organizations inside other NATO members and Partnership for Peace (PFP) nations. The organisation's website states their mission is to "promote peace, prosperity, and security through knowledge and understanding of the importance of NATO".[2]

The NAOC is chaired former Minister of Defence David Collenette. Robert Baines serves as President and CEO.[3] The association operates from its national office in downtown Toronto, Ontario, with a small professional staff, volunteers and interns, located across the country in Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal.

The association organizes and promotes conferences, seminars, round table meetings, speakers' dinners and lunches, as well as holding an annual Spring Conference in Toronto and a Fall Conference in Ottawa. NAOC releases several articles per week, on issues pertaining to peace, prosperity and security, to better educate Canadians about NATO.[4]
