From 1756-1758, the Kazakh army under the command of Bogenbay-batyr engaged in fierce battle with the Chinese forces at Talki. As a result of this battle, they inflicted a major defeat on the Chinese and pursued them to Urumqi. A total of eleven battles took place during the summer of 1756.[2].
