The station was built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in 1937.[3][4] It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000 as Seaboard Air Line Railroad Depot.[2] A $2.5 million restoration and accessibility renovation took place in 2015.[5][6] On November 10, 2024, the Silver Star was merged with the Capitol Limited as the Floridian.[7]
