Douglas Bonnell ( Blue Feather) which is not a Cherokee name, is not a Cherokee tribal member, and is not a fullblood either. He should not be listed on this page.
I agree that Douglas Bonnell ( Blue Feather ) is not Cherokee. Its most likely the case that he's one of the great number of people in the United States that heard a story from their family that they have Cherokee blood. Most of these claims are false.
They should have a seperate section that is ONLY for enrolled citizens of one of the three Federally Recognized Cherokee Tribes. ( The Cherokee Nation, The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. And even if they have a seperate section for people who "self identify as Cherokee", then there should be another section explaining that the evidence shows that the majority of people who claim to be Cherokee and can't prove it most likely don't have Cherokee ancestry. I have proposed renaming this category to "Cherokee citizens" as per the category description, and moving out the irrelevant sub-categories [1]. Please feel free to have your say on that page. Vizjim (talk) 09:07, 30 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
