Why do we have this Category?

edit

Practically all polymers, natural and synthetic, are organic polymers. Out of the hundreds of polymers discussed in the English Wikipedia, only a small handful are inorganic polymers. For those, we have the Category:Inorganic polymers page; most if not all of them obscure and not widely used, and I've got no problem with that. All of the really important, useful polymers are organic polymers because they contain carbon atoms, if not in the backbone then in the pendant groups. This Category:Organic polymers page should be almost identical with the Category:Polymers page. My recommendation would be to get rid of this Category:Organic polymers page and simply have the Category:Polymers page, which should have everything the Category:Organic polymers page has, plus a couple of inorganic polymers. Category:Organic polymers should be practically a duplication of Category:Polymers, so there is practically no use in having it. H Padleckas (talk) 06:10, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
