photo requests
editThe list of requests for photographs of people has become too large to be of use to anyone. I propose to split the main categories into a number of smaller and more specific categories so that people will be more willing to attempt addressing and reducing the list. Proposal documented here: User:People-photo-bot. Comments welcome before I start working further on the task.--Traveler100 (talk) 05:32, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

RICH SOURCE OF FREE (as in freedom) PHOTOGRAPHS OF PEOPLE
editI recently realized that facebook <sic> is a rich source of free content! As I documented in {{tl: Free--PublicOnFacebook}}, the legal Terms of Use of facebook say: "When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture)." and "By "use" we mean use, run, copy, publicly perform or display, distribute, modify, translate, and create derivative works of." [1]
So, Public content on facebook is free, but content just shared with friends or groups is not free.
(If someone releases content under a free license they didn't own the copyright to in the first place, the license is not valid. Like with any other content published under a free license, this is the case with content published on facebook with a Public privacy setting.)
Nonetheless, some closed-minded folk are intent on deleting the template... there's a discussion going on...--{{U|Elvey}} (t•c) 23:31, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Photo requests of dead people
editI can't help but notice that there are a large number of photo requests that are very unlikely to be able to be fufilled by anyone - perhaps should the photo request template be removed one year after a person has been deceased or something like that, due to the unlikelylihood of being able to attain a free photo, and so that more possible requests can be fufilled?.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 20:13, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
