Taipei University of Marine Technology (TUMT; Chinese: 台北海洋科技大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-pak Hái-iûⁿ Kho-ki Tāi-ha̍k) is a private technological university located in Taiwan.[1]

History
editTaipei University of Marine Technology remains the only private university that owns its wharf for the purpose of teaching. And the university is the only one in Taiwan that has campuses across the City of Taipei and the New Taipei city geographically. The university has educated more than 40,000 students who after graduation devoted themselves in different fields since 1966 and their performances are highly appraised in various industrial organization. Taipei University of Marine Technology is a vocational technology-oriented institute aiming to cultivate technical professionals in maritime and commerce. The university adopted “Justice, Honesty, Diligence, Courage, Persistency” as the university motto, “Professionalism, Loyalty, Diligence, Persistency, Servicing as the university philosophy, and the vision of cultivating distinguished professionals emphasizing the balance of theory and practice, both technology and ethics, reality, innovation, servicing, and LOHAS (lifestyles of health and sustainability). Furthermore, the university continues to upgrade its vision of being a more professional, innovative, excellent institute.[2] [3]

Education Environment
editThe university has a multifunctional stadium to advocate versatile sports for students and people in the community. A 24-hour constant temperature indoor swimming pool with 8 lanes is located on the first floor. A multifunctional indoor field for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and other activities is located on the second floor. There is also a fitness center for students and the community with the intent to advocate sports as well as healthy and quality life style and habit. The overall space is 3,572 square meters in the stadium.
