The channel is most know for a series called the Kill Count, a show where the main host James A. Janisse gives a summary of the film, then gives its body count while also giving behind-the-scenes information.[2] Some examples of films they covered are Friday the 13th, Halloween, Saw, Get Out and It.[4]

The channel, which began in 2017, was created by James A. Janisse and his then-girlfriend Chelsea Rebecca, who had met as film students attending the University of Michigan.[4]

In 2018, Rebecca created the Dead Meat Podcast, a show where they discuss horror films and play horror themed trivia games.[2][4] with one episode talking about transgender representation in horror films[4]

Janisse and Rebecca had a cameo in the 2022 film Scream as two fictional YouTube movie critics called Film Fails.[5]

Also in 2022, Janisse and Rebecca would create the first Dead Meat Horror Awards[1][4]

And in 2024 it was announced that Janisse will also appearing in an upcoming horror anthology called Grind.[6][7][8]
