Death Valley is an upcoming BBC crime mystery television series starring Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth and set in Wales. Set in Wales, the six-part murder mystery series follows the unlikely crime-solving partnership between eccentric national treasure John Chapel (Timothy Spall), a retired actor and star of hit fictional detective TV show 'Caesar', and disarming Welsh detective sergeant Janie Mallowan (Gwyneth Keyworth). The series is set to premiere next year on BBC Two, BBC One Wales and BBC iPlayer.

Production
editThe six-part series is written and created by Paul Doolan. Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth were cast in the lead roles in May 2024.[1] Also part of the cast are Steffan Rhodri, Alexandria Riley and Melanie Walters. Guest stars include Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Sian Gibson, Patricia Hodge and Jim Howick.[2]
Filming took place in June 2024 in Penarth and Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan.[3]
