Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic said that "serious fans will want something more extensive" and that "neophytes would be best served by more well-chosen collections".[1] Sputnikmusic user TwistandShout gave the album a 3.5, stating in the review summary that it was "A good album, good if you're trying to get into the Who."[3]
