Ademola Ojo Emmanuel is a Nigerian-British professor, pastor, and author. He is the first Nigerian professor of Cyber Security and Information Technology Management.[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Emmanuel was born on December 26, 1969, in Ikare Akoko, Nigeria. He received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Technology from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Emmanuel subsequently attended the Atlantic International University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in  Cyber Security.[2]

Career

He started his career as a principal at Power-Age Christian College in 2004, heading strategic marketing, programme development, and education management. In 2012, he joined Afe Babalola University Nigeria as a professor. Emmanuel was also a member of the board of trustees. From 2014 to 2017, Emmanuel served as a fellowship BCS Assessor and interviewer at BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, reviewing and actualizing the skills framework. He was the expert and consultant at The Commonwealth Secretariat from 2016 to 2018. Emmanuel undertook research and analysis, including leading to the production of publications such as conceptual documents and technical specification documents. In 2023, Emmanuel was listed among first Nigerian Professors in Africa by the Journal on Nigeria’s Affairs.[4]

As of 2024, Emmanuel is the chairman of Professor Ademola Ojo Emmanuel Foundation (PAOEF), the promoter of the Proposed University of Professional Studies, BCS Fellowship Committee member and Panel Review, and the regional superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria and Overseas.[1]

Emmanuel is currently an executive committee member of BCS ELITE – The Computing Leadership Forum, BCS & CMI Subject Matter Expert, trademark Owner of Power-Age (Management Consulting), Governing Council Member of  American International University, International Advisory Board member at Dominican University Ibadan Nigeria, and Chairperson of Power-Age and Institute for Enterprise Management and Analytics. He is the system analyst of the first Geographic Information System Laboratory at the University of Ibadan. In 2024, Archive Global Appointed Emmanuel as its vice chairman.[5] The same year, African Voice Newspaper UK inaugurated Emmanuel as its editorial board member by Milton Tella.[6] He is the first professor of African descent to be a chartered manager.[7]
