The Cleveland School of Cannabis is a for-profit institute of higher education located in Independence, Ohio, that is focused on careers in the marijuana industry.[1][2][3]
History
editThe Cleveland School of Cannabis opened in 2016 under the name Cleveland Cannabis College. Two years later the school received state approval from the Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools. Under state law in Ohio, an institution offering education under the diploma level, must not use the name College in its name, leading the school to change its name from Cleveland Cannabis College to the Cleveland School of Cannabis. In December 2023 the Cleveland School of Cannabis received a 10-year accreditation from Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS), which is an approved accreditor of the United States Department of Education accrediting schools up to the Diploma level including institutions of higher education and Industry Training Providers.[2][4] This was the first time a cannabis focused school received an accreditation from an accreditor approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Cleveland School of Cannabis changed its website from csceducation.com to CSCschools.edu Upon accreditation by the U.S. Department of Education.[1]
