CloudMounter is an application for managing multiple cloud storage simultaneously, created by Electronic Team, Inc. in 2016[1]. It is designed to combine all of a user's cloud services into a single platform and also remote servers as local drives on their computers [2] [3]. The app was nominated for the 2017 SIAA CODiE Awards for Best Cloud Management Solution.[4]
CloudMounter includes features like full support for FTP, SFTP [5]; secure cloud data encryption [6]; file management [7]; integration with Finder and Explorer, and offline mode.
The app is compatible with macOS [8] and Windows OS and is available in the following languages: English, Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.
Cloud storage services
editCloudMounter supports different cloud storage services on both macOS and Windows platforms.
macOS version supports: OpenStack Swift, Google Drive, Dropbox, WebDAV, Microsoft OneDrive, Box, Backblaze, Amazon S3, pCloud, and Mega [9] [10] [11].
Windows version: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive , Amazon S3, and WebDav.
Encryption
editCloudmounter uses Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a 256-bit key length to protect data from unwanted access. Encryption in CloudMounter works in such a way that only those who have the decryption key can read data. The encryption key used in the Windows version of the application is also acceptable for the Mac version, allowing users to access encrypted files regardless of the operating system they are using.[12]
Also, CloudMounter operates an end-to-end encryption model [13], which means that even if the cloud storage provider's servers are compromised, the data will remain inaccessible without encryption keys.
