Forsmark to be built as a final repository for spent radioactive waste by the Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB company is allowed to start preparatory works for the construction of a spent fuel disposal facility. Land and Environment Court granted an environmental permit. for the construction and operation of the facilities.
SKB will be able to store about 6,000 canisters of about 12,000 tonnes of nuclear waste in the final repository, at a depth of about 500 metres.[1].
