Gloria Namugerwa is a female Ugandan footballer who plays as a defender for Uganda Martyrs High School- Lubaga in the FUFA Women Super League.[1][2][3]
She was born in Kabaale-Wakiso District on 29th November 2003. Her parents are Ssentongo Lawrence (RIP) and Kabajjuma Maria Gorreti.[4]
Club career
editGloria Namugerwa used to escort boys and watch over their bags at the football pitch. While at her duty a bag keeper, the ball went off the pitch so she kicked back. And that is when coach Allan Kabonge saw the talent in her and approached her.[5]
Gloria started playing football in 2011. She has played locally for Uganda Martyrs High School- Lubaga Women and Lady Doves Football Club.[6][7][8] Gloria also played for national team ( the Crested Cranes) under 17 and was among its stars.[9][10] she plays as a defender in Lady Doves.[11][12]
International Participation
editGloria joined FCF Amani FC in DR Congo Women top flight side upon signing a two year employment contract.[6][13][14][15][16] While at Amani she wore shirt number fourteen.
