Jocelyn Saunders (nee Muir) has set multiple world records for endurance and long distance swimming, and in 2001 was inducted into the Ontario Aquatic Hall of Fame. Her first world record was set on September 3, 1981, when at age 15 she became the youngest person yet to swim across Lake Ontario. In 1987, at 21 years old, she set another world record by successfully completing a 60-day swim around the 521.5-mile perimeter of Lake Ontario.
