John Gabbanonte (November 8, 1921–December 27, 2000) was a Staff Sergeant who served in the 357th Infantry Regiment during World War II.[1] On February 2 1945 SSG Gabbanonte was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism against German forces in France.[2] He also received the Silver Star for heroism.[3]
