Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi (Bengali: খান তালাত মাহমুদ রাফি) is a student activist and coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Students Movement at Chittagong University.[1] He was one of the prominent coordinator to lead the 2024 quota reform protest and the non-cooperation movement in Chattogram.[2][3]

Personal life and education
editKhan Talat Mahmud Rafi is a student in Dramatic Arts[4] at Chittagong University.[5] He hails from Netrokona,[4] where his father, Tariqul Islam, a freedom fighter of Bangladesh Liberation War, resides.[6]
Activism
editKhan Talat Mahmud Rafi is a coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Students Movement,[7] which initially focused on challenging discriminatory quotas in educational institutions.[8] Over time, the movement broadened its scope, evolving into a wider campaign[9] that demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government.[10]
Rafi was one of the prominent coordinator of the protests at Chittagong University in mid-2024.[11] Rafi became particularly notable when a video went viral, showing him standing in front of the police, who were pointing guns at the protesters in an effort to disperse them.[12] Following this incident, Rafi reported receiving a death threat.[13][14]
