History

Temporary and permanent channels

edit

From 29 May to 22 June 2020, MTV OMG was temporarily rebranded to MTV 00s.[5][6][7]

Starting from 5 June 2021, the channel VH1 Europe introduced more singles from the 00s era, and partially adapted its programming towards it. On 1 August 2021 - the 40th anniversary of MTV, VH1 Europe stopped broadcasts of regular programs, and broadcast only music of the 2000s with a new grid of programmes as MTV 00s, albeit with the VH1 logo.[8] Since 2 August 2021, the channel MTV 00s broadcasts round the clock, having replaced VH1 Europe.[9]

The channel does carry some songs from 1999 which did chart instead in 2000.
