Mala Raj is an Indian obstetrician, gynaecologist, and laparoscopic surgeon based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.[1] With over 20 years of experience, she is known for her work in laparoscopic procedures, including hysterectomies, myomectomies, and infertility management.

Early life and education

Mala Raj's spouse C. Kasturi Raj is a businessman and her daughter, Aarathy Kasturi Raj is an Indian speed skating track athlete. She did her MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai. She did her post-graduation in obstetrics and gynaecology at Ramachandra Medical College in 1997. She obtained a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Kiel, Germany, in 2004.[2] She completed a Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from the same university in 2014 and received training in advanced endoscopy in Strasborg and Taiwan
