editOverSimplified was created by Stuart Webster.[8] The channel was created on October 26, 2006. But it first started producing videos from October 21, 2016. Focusing on historical events like World War I, World War II, and the American Revolution and many more. Over time, the channel's popularity grew, especially after the release of videos like "World War II - OverSimplified (Part 1 and Part 2)" and "Cold War - OverSimplified (Part 1 and Part 2)," both of which cumulatively garnered hundreds of millions of views.[9][10][11]
