The second season of the slasher television series, Scream initially aired on MTV in the United States and Netflix internationally. It premiered on May 30, 2016 with "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and concluded on August 16, 2016 with "The Vanishing". The season consists of ten episodes, with a two-part Halloween special, Scream: Halloween, airing on October 18, 2016.
The second season takes place in the fictional town of Lakewood, three months after the first season, as teenager Emma Duval in the aftermath the horrors of the first season and her connection to the Lakewood Slasher. As her best friend Audrey seeks to cover up her own role in the killings from the investigative Noah, a new killer brings Lakewood's murderous past, both recent and distant, back into focus – with their psychotic mind-games bringing Lakewood's heroes down in a storm of betrayal and bloodshed.
The season stars Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini, Carlson Young, Tracy Middendorf, Kiana Brown, and Santiago Segura.

Casting
editIn March 2016, Kiana Ledé and Santiago Segura joined the main cast of the second season, replacing Connor Weil and Jason Wiles.[13] Lele Pons appeared in a cameo capacity in the beginning of the second season, paying homage to Jada Pinkett's role iii Scream 2, with Pons' character Leah, an actress from the in-show film Murderville, being thrown off a house by a killer, Becca (Chelsea Bruland).[14]

The site's critical consensus reads: "Undeniably gripping and wickedly sharp, Scream returns with a killer sophomore season that manages to go further into its murderous ethos."[15]
