Son Dong-pyo (Korean: 손동표; born on September 9, 2002), known mononymously as Dongpyo (동표), is a South Korean singer under DSP Media. He is best known for participating in the reality competition series Produce X 101. He is a former member of the boy groups X1 (2019–2020) and Mirae (2021–2024).

Early life
editSon was born on September 9, 2002, in Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk, South Korea.[1] He was graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School.[2]
Career
edit2019–2020: Produce X 101 & debut with X1
editIn 2019, he appeared on the cable channel Mnet’s survival program Produce X 101 and gained attention. In particular, he garnered a lot of attention early on after being selected as the center for the first stage. He eventually showed his growth through the show and was able to debut as a member of X1 under Swing Entertainment. He released his first album with the group in August 2019 and began official promotions. However, controversy arose when the fact that the show's production team had manipulated the votes was revealed, and the group decided to disband without any significant activities.[3]
2021–2024: Debut with Mirae
editOn February 24, 2021, at midnight, DSP Media revealed the release schedule for debut mini-album 'KILLA' on MIRAE's official SNS channel. MIRAE, a group that includes him as a former X1 member and has been a hot topic even before their debut, has started the countdown to their debut.[4] In March 2021, he successfully re-debuted with the others with the first album, 'Killa' Mirae's First Mini Album'.[5]
On July 9, 2024, his agency, DSP Media, announced on the global fan community platform Weverse that they had decided to disband the Mirae group activities. The other members were leaving the agency due to contract termination; only he remains with the agency.[6]
2024–present: Solo activities
editOn August 7, 2024, he released the digital single 'Wave (2024)' version. It is a remake of a song released by UN in July 2001, reinterpreted in his own style.[7] On July 30, 2024, he confirmed his appearance in the new drama 0th Period is Inssa Time as Mo Bong-gu, taking on the challenge of acting.[8]
