"Starting Line" is a song recorded by Australian singer-songwriter Luke Hemmings of pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. It was written and produced by Hemmings and Sammy Witte. The song was released via Sony Music Australia on 30 June 2021, as the lead single from debut studio album, When Facing the Things We Turn Away From (2021).[1][2] It was compared to previous music videos by Dima Bilan.
Music video
editThe music video was released on 10 June. It was directed by Scottie Cameron in Los Angeles.[3] In it, Hemmings walked through a parking lot, then around the city, and continued running for 2 minutes before continuing his walk.
Live perfomences
editOn December 6, Hemmings performed "Starting Line" from live-extended play "Nostalgia: Live From Los Angeles".[citation needed]
