Utah folklore
editUtah is home to a wide variety of folklore, encompassing ancient Native American traditions, pioneer tales, and modern urban legends. This article provides an overview of notable folklore and legends specific to the state of Utah.
Bear Lake Monster – A reported lake monster from Bear Lake, Utah-Idaho border.
North Shore Monster – A creature reported in the Great Salt Lake, described as having a crocodile-like body.
Water Babies – Part of Paiute and Ute folklore in Utah, reported in Utah Lake and the Provo River, with stories of infants' cries luring people to the water.
Jean Baptiste (grave robber) – A grave robber exiled to Fremont Island, whose fate remains unknown.
