Vasudevapattu is a rare Tamil Manipravala work composed four hundred years ago by Bhaktakavi Poonthanam.
Description
editPoonthana Sarvasvam (Guruvayur Devaswom Publication) mentions three other Tamil works of Poonthanam like Parum Porum, Mayavaibhavam and Atmabodhanam besides Vasudevappattu .According to T.B. Venugopalapanikar, a notable linguist the language of this work is pure Tamil Manipravalam . The work was discovered from the manuscripts by Sudev Krishna Sharman and Maciej Karasinski.
Palm leaves of this work are available in the Manuscript Library of the University of Kerala and in the collection of the Tripunithura Sanskrit College.
Maciej Karasinski, A native of Poland who came to Kerala for research in Tantra and Sudev Krishna Sharman G. wrote an article mentioning the discovery of this rare work in the 'Journal of Indian Philosophy[1]' published from Switzerland in 2021.
