Submission declined on 30 May 2022 by Gusfriend (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tone—this includes material that you own the copyright to. You should attribute the content of a draft to outside sources, using citations, but copying and pasting or closely paraphrasing sources is not acceptable. The entire draft should be written using your own words and structure. This submission has now been cleaned of the above-noted copyright violation and its history redacted by an administrator to remove the infringement. If re-submitted (and subsequent additions do not reintroduce copyright problems), the content may be assessed on other grounds.

- Comment: As mentioned previously, "substantial reviews in third-party published independent reliable sources are what is needed" so something like this, this and this showing impact. The copyright issue may be able to be solved by the author giving permission. Gusfriend (talk) 04:50, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: Citations in google scholar are completely irrelevant in fields like theology. the measure of his notability is the importance of his books, and substantial reviews in third-party published independent reliable sources arewhatis needed DGG ( talk ) 19:12, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: There's nothing here to suggest that this person is notable by our standards. According to Google Scholar he has an h-index of about 2; on Scopus he isn't listed at all. The page contains swathes of unsourced content, and content that is not supported by the source cited. I haven't checked all of the sources, but I don't see any that cover his life and achievements in depth and in detail – they all appear to be passing mentions at best. If there are any such sources please point them out. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:05, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Warren Charles Trenchard (b. 1944) is Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Early Christian Literature and Director of Graduate Programs in the H. M. S. Richards Divinity School (1995–present) at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He was university Provost 2004–2010.

Education
editCareer
editCanadian Union College
editIn 1980, along with librarian colleague at Canadian Union College, Keith Clouten, Trenchard developed a major re-write of the Library of Congress classification schedule BX 6101–6189, which was deemed as inadequate to incorporate the massive and complex published materials associated with Seventh-day Adventism. This especially involved the large bibliography of writings by Ellen G. White. What Clouten and Trenchard created is now used by Adventist academic libraries worldwide and is updated and distributed by the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Librarians.[12]

Before retiring, he was also a member of the Adventist Society for Religious Studies (president: 1992–93), a fellow of the Institute for Biblical Research, and a member of the International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies, and the Society of Biblical Literature.
