I've got an OTRS ticket from the subject of this biography, looking to have it re-inserted into the mainspace. They have noted a number of potential reasons they meet the notability criteria, the most compelling of which in my view is that they are the composer of the official song of the Belgian First Division A. This is apparently played before every game, and is also frequently used in television broadcasts of the league. Soccer is not my game (I'm more of a cricket person), so I'm not sure if this would count as a "notable composition" per WP:COMPOSER. I also welcome opinions on whether there are any other reasons to believe they meet WP:N; they are certainly prolific but I'm drawing a blank when it comes to the usual sorts of sources we like to see. Could someone more familiar with the topic material than I have a look and venture an opinion on whether this would be good enough to save this article from immediate deletion if it were moved into mainspace? No. As a BLP with absolutely no independent reliable source whatsoever, I don't believe this would survive in mainspace. Nor do think it would be accepted if it were submitted through AfC, which is – is it not? – the normal way to find out the answer to this question. The crucial word in WP:COMPOSER is of course "may" – notability still needs to be established by references to reliable sources with in-depth coverage of the subject. It's mildly curious that this person has no article in nl.wp, but hopes to get one here. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:18, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I didn't want to wait six to eight weeks for AFC, if the answer to this question was to be a quick "no". Given his origin, there may be sources in Flemish or Dutch hanging around though, although I also drew a blank on English. Lankiveil(speak to me)03:11, 11 November 2017 (UTC).Reply
