I was baffled by the rejection of Ramon Guthrie for lack independent sources. I thought the contributors to Ramon's festschrift would be sufficiently independent; they were, after all, voluntary. I had assumed that those contributors who were recognized as notable by Wikipedia and who considered Guthrie their peer would be a sufficient endorsement. In that regard I think the opinions of the critics Malcolm Cowley, M.L. Rosenthal and Irita Van Doren are especially relevant to his notability. I also would have thought that the extent of his bibliography, with volumes published by S4N, Harcourt Brace and Co., George Duran Co., McMillan, Farrar Straus and Giroux, Scribner's, Doubleday Ltd. of Canada and Reynal & Hitchcock of London, would have, independent of any other evidence, made him notable.
However, I welcome the opportunity for revision; I would just appreciate some guidance on what more I need to do as I proceed.
