Needs secondary sources

edit

Hi, I think sourcing is the major issue here. The majority of sources used in this draft are primary sources, or in Wikipedia lingo, original research. What you need to use instead are secondary sources, e.g. articles and books where the pair is discussed and their notability in the history of music hall is established. Thankyou for this help. Added bibliography, plus links to thousands of newspaper articles. Please help in any way you see fit. Victoriana2022 (talk) 19:46, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Victoriana2022. The bulk of the article is well-sourced and researched (I checked some of the BNA links and all is in order). Despite this I tidied up this article a little to simplify things for ordinary viewers. Approval for publication isn't down to me, however. Good luck with your continued efforts on Wiki! I am always pleased to see others beat the drum for music hall. Steprightup! (talk) 06:50, 24 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Steprightup! the draft actually isn't mine but I do think it ought to be published, so thanks for the encouragement and for the improvements to the body text. Victoriana2022 (talk) 18:48, 24 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, unfortunately I don’t have much knowledge on this pair, but listing secondary sources is not going to be enough. You will need to find secondary sources for the main body of text and replace the items in current footnotes with them. In Wikipedia, secondary rather than primary sources should be the main sources. @TrueHeartSusie3 to be completely fair I did check the secondary sources in the main body and all seems to be in place, plentiful and quite legitimate. The issue as it stands is that perhaps the text may be somewhat elongated. Steprightup! (talk) 06:52, 24 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
