Undiscussed split and title

edit

You should have discussed this split before just doing it! I know you usually do more obscure buildings, but this one is internationally known, but certainly not by this name. It may well be what local cab drivers call it, But I think the museum itself avoids self-describing as "the Met", probably partly to avoid confusion with the Metropolitan Opera, which is usually what "the Met in New York" means. Do any of your sources use this title? I think it should be changed. Btw, you haven't linked to this new article in the very obvious places I checked. Johnbod (talk) 02:05, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Who is the 'you' in this context? Do you have any alternatives to suggest? ɱ (talk) 04:41, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

A "mausoleum"

edit

I'd like to see a citation for the claim that contemporary critics dubbed Vaux's original building a 'mausoleum'. I can find no evidence for this assertion. Time magazine called the (by then) much-enlarged Metropolitan Museum a mausoleum in 1929 but that seems to have been a comment on its contents rather than Vaux's architecture.
