Fateh Pur (/fʌˈteɪ.pʊər/; Urdu: فتح پُور; Urdu pronunciation: [fʌ:θeɪ.pʊ:r]) is a city in the Layyah district of Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in the 1980s[2] and acquired sub-tehsil status on January 7, 2007 in the Karor Lal Eason Tehsil. Fateh Pur is the third largest city in the Layyah district.[1][2][unreliable source?]

Economy
editThe economy of the area depends upon government jobs, some private jobs and agriculture-related businesses.
Major crops
editCommon crops grown in Fateh Pur include cotton, sugarcane, wheat and rice. Gardening and fruit production (dates, mangoes, watermelons, melons, and citrus fruit) is also important. Veterinary development is a common feature of the area. Various animals, including buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep, camels and poultry, are used for milk and meat production.[3]

editThe results of the 2017 Census determined the population of Fateh Pur's total (urban and rural) population to be 44,084. The average annual growth rate was determined to be 5.56% since 1998. Gender-wise, the male population is 21,908 (49.69%) and the female population is 22,157 (50.31%).[4]
