| Description |
English: The Omkareshwar temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples in India. The temple was restored by the Peshwa-Maratha in the 18th century, while preserving the historic ruins to the extend feasible. This is a busy temple and active pilgrimage site.
The Omkareshwar superstructure is modern in plain Nagara style. The historic sections consist of pillars in the mandapa and artwork panels. The notable artwork here include the dancing Krishna, Ganesha, Vishnu and Durga. |
