English: Taken from a detailed article in Automotor magazine, June 1904, on the latest Napier race car. The engine had six separate cylinders with mechanically operated inlet valves. It was rated at 80hp (though the article states it was expected to be capable of 'considerably more power'). The inlet valves were in the same place as normal atmopsheric valves, above and facing the exhaust valves, but were operated by a pushrod and rocker. The gearbox was only 2-speed, and the car weighed 19cwt.
