Description1906-09-01 Frogner Oscar Guttormsen.png
English: Oscar Guttormsen at Frogner stadium in Oslo, putting a shot? This is at a two-day competition held 1–2 September 1906. Mostly Norwegians, but also 5 from Denmark, as well as the dane Haakon VII who did not compete. Oscar Guttormsen won the Kongepokal as well, even if he did not win, since the winner (Carl Alfred Pedersen) already had won it. Oscar was from Oslo and lived 1884 to 1965. He had won norwegian gold medals in 100 and 400 meters, 110 m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, shot put and triple jump. Very versatile man.
This image is in the public domain in Norway because images considered to be "works of art" become public domain 70 years after the author's death or 70 years after publication if the author is anonymous.
To uploader: Please provide information about where the image was first published, who created it, and when the creator died, if known. The right to be attributed does not expire in Norway.
Images uploaded to Wikimedia Commons must also be in the public domain in the United States. A Norwegian work that is in the public domain in Norway is in the public domain in the U.S. only if (a) it was in the public domain in Norway in 1996, e.g. if a photo was created before January 1, 1946 and no copyright was registered in the U.S. (This is the effect of 17 USC 104A with its critical date of January 1, 1996.) or (b) if it was created more than 95 years ago.
This work is in the public domain in the United States because it meets three requirements:
it was first published outside the United States (and not published in the U.S. within 30 days),
it was first published before 1 March 1989 without copyright notice or before 1964 without copyright renewal or before the source country established copyright relations with the United States,
it was in the public domain in its home country on the URAA date (January 1, 1996 for most countries).
For background information, see the explanations on Non-U.S. copyrights. Note: This tag should not be used for sound recordings.
