English: This 1912 postcard photographs shows the luxurious and elegant lobby of the Hotel Allen on the northeast corner of Center Square. On 26 October 1914, Theodore Roosevelt stayed at the Hotel Allen and spoke from the balcony of the hotel for a campaign appearance for Republican candidates for Senator and Governor of Pennsylvania.
