Description
English: Round Top is on the east side of the Gettysburg Battlefield (green). By 1916, the community had a en:Round Top Station (4) siding of the en:Round Top Branch that connected to the en:Gettysburg Electric Railway (dashed), which had been connected to the steamtrain railroad after 1904. Labeled on the 1916 map were "P. D. Swisher" (1), "M. L. Stonestreet" (7), "J. McAllister (9), & "J. Group" (10). The Round Top School (3) and Plank Civil War hospital (8) remain, and former Round Top structures were the en:Round Top Museum/Hotel (2), Epley Blacksmith Shop (5), & "5 CORPS M.K.R." (6). On the west, the original alignment of en:Sykes Avenue ("AVE") extends south from en:Wheatfield Road to en:Little Round Top.
