Description1927 tram at Polvorín rail yard in Buenos Aires, Argentina (15753593568).png
An Asociación Amigos del Tranvía volunteer welcomes riders onto a 1927 tram at Buenos Aires' Polvorín rail yard, a few blocks north of the E. Mitre Subte station.
La Asociación conducts free tram rides for all comers on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Please see www.tranvia.org.ar/ for the schedule.
This was an unexpected highlight of my Buenos Aires visit, thanks to the obvious enthusiasm of Asociación volunteers and the merry good spirits of porteños waiting to ride with their children. I felt like I'd stumbled into a private party, a little festival.
