General Motors was founded in 1908 by William Durant, who at the time was the General Manager of Buick (formed in 1899) In 1911, Durant formed a partnership with Belgian-born race-car driver, Louis Chevrolet and the Chevrolet Motor Company was born.
Chevrolet introduced a new body in 1949, a softer, rounded look. For the 1952 facelift, parking lights were wider, the grille now featured a row of teeth along the formerly smooth bar.
1952 trunkback models were again the;
Base KJ Styleline Special; 2 door Business Coupe, Sport Coupe, 2 and 4 door Sedans.
Upmarket KK Styleline Deluxe (fender skirts and stainless steel mouldings to front fenders and doors); 2 door Sport Coupe, Convertible, 2 and 4 door Sedans and Wagon
Also the Styleline Deluxe Bel Air 2 door Hardtop.
Just the 2 door fastback Fleetline was available in 1952.
Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
