Description1967 Ford Falcon (XR) 500 utility (18347582806).jpg
The XR Falcon was built from Sept 1966-March 1968.
The XR was the 'Mustang bred' Falcon, completely new design with its long nose and short tail styling with a distinctive kick up at the back of the rear doors, known as the “Coke bottle” hip. It retained the traditional round Falcon tail lamps. Good news was a V8 and front disc brakes were now available, but the 2 door Hardtop was dropped
As the V8 was now available, a performance model was introduced; the GT, which featured a high performance version of the 289 V8.
The XR GT won the Gallaher 500 in 1967 at Bathurst.
Engines; 170 Pursuit and 200 Super Pursuit 6s or 289 V8
