Summary
Description1972 AMC Matador hardtop yellow black with 401 V8 at Rambler Ranch 1of4.jpg |
English: 1972 AMC Matador two-door hardtop (no B pillar) finished in Canary Yellow (paint code A2) with a black vinyl-covered roof and matching black interior featuring bucket front seats with center armrest (not available on sedans or station wagons). The intermediate-sized Matador was positioned as a "family car" by American Motors (AMC). This car is equipped as a "muscle car" with AMC's optional 401 cu in (6.6 L) V8 engine. The only transmission available was the Chrysler-built TorqueFlite three-speed automatic that AMC marketed as "Torque-Command." with the shifter mounted on the steering column. This car has the optional "sports" steering wheel and an adjustable tilt column. Other options include air conditioning and AM radio. The optional 14-inch full wheel covers on this car are AMC's new "Turbo-Disk" design. White lettered tires were not available from the factory on Matadors with 14-inch wheels.
Photographed at the Rambler Ranch collection (located at 36370 Forest Trail, Elizabeth, CO 80107, see: https://www.ramblerranch.com ) that was part of the 2021 American Motors Owners (AMO) convention held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. |
