Description1981 Chrysler CM Valiant - Last Australian Valiant built (5059600774).jpg
1981 Chrysler CM Valiant sedan. This car is the very last Australian Valiant to roll off Chrysler Australia's Tonsley Park production line. It was built on 28th August 1981. By that time Chrysler's Australian operations had been sold to Mitsubishi. The car was fitted with the 4.0 litre (245 cubic inch) version of the Hemi six cylinder engine. After ceremonies to mark the occasion, the car was presented to Purnell Bros Mitsubishi, in recognition of them having sold more Valiants than any other dealer in Australia. The car was offered for sale for the first time at Shannon's classic and collectible vehicle auction at the 2003 Sydney International Motor Show. It was purchased by a collector in Victoria and now shares a shed with the first Australian built Valiant, an R Series sedan, among cars representing every year of Australian Valiant production.
