English: A set of Belgian "classic" electric railcars in station Ottignes (south of Brussel) in 3 different painting schemes (from left to right : AM640 in "milka" painting schemes (from the well known Swiss Chocolates, as this painting schemes was made after a major rebuilt of the interiors in the early 2000's, with purple and white as major colors), AM992 in "Cityrail" painting schemes (as defined in 2007, when the Belgian railways decided to use those old railcars to operate the first lines of the future Regio Express Network under this name) and finally the "classical" bordeaux painting schemes used from the 1980's, and still in use on railcars which are supposed to be scrapped in the next few years.
Station Ottignies is at a crossing between two streams (mostly passenger line 161 from Brussels to Namur and Freight corridor Sibelit between the Antwerp port and south Europe). Those 3 tracks are placed between the two lines that surrounds the station's building.

De gauche à droite, l'AM640 en livrée "milka" (surnom qu'elle a reçu suite à la profonde rénovation qui fit apparaitre un aménagement intérieur à dominante mauve et claire dans les années 2000), l'AM992 en livrée "Cityrail" (ce terme désigne la desserte "pré RER" établie autour de Bruxelles dans l'attente du lancement effectif du réseau (probablement en 2016-2020). L'usage d'automotrices anciennes n'est pas particulièrement adapté, la SNCB a d'ailleurs passé commande de matériel neuf ultérieurement) et finalement la livrée bordeaux des années '80 et '90, qui est toujours portée par le matériel dont l'espérance de vie ne justifie plus une repeinture intégrale.
La gare d'Ottignies se trouve à l'intersection de deux importants flux (la ligne 161 qui relie Bruxelles et Namur, et voit passer un intense trafic voyageur) et les lignes 139 et 140 (qui font partie du corridor fret Sibelit entre le port d'Anvers et le sud de l'Europe). La gare est coincée entre ces deux flux (qui communiquent uniquement via le grill nord) et les 3 voies en impasse que l'on voit sur la photo aboutissent aux pieds du bâtiment de la gare.
Nederlands: Een mooie line up van klassieke elektrische motorstellen van de NMBS in het station van Ottignies (Waals-Brabant), in de drie livreien die in 2008 op de rails te zien waren. Links: MS640 in "Milka"-livrei, genoemd naar het bekende Zwitserse chocolademerk omwille van de overwegende kleuren mauve en wit die gebruikt werden bij de herinrichting van het interieur van deze stellen rond het jaar 2000. In het midden: MS992 in "Cityrail"-livrei, bedoeld voor het (voorlopige) voorstadsnet of regionaal expressnet van Brussel; dit voorstadsnet zal pas tegen 2016-2020 volledig operationeel zijn en tegen dan zal nieuw rollend materieel in gebruik genomen zijn. Rechts: MS203 in de Bordeauxrode livrei van de jaren 1980-'90, die behouden blijft bij motorstellen waarvoor een nieuwe schilderbeurt niet zinvol is omdat ze binnen afzienbare tijd buiten dienst gesteld zullen worden. De motorstellen bevinden zich op de drie kopsporen bij het station van Ottignies, die geklemd zitten tussen enerzijds de drukke passagierslijn 161 Brussel-Namen-Luxemburg, en anderzijds de lijnen 139 en 140 die druk bereden worden door goederentreinen tussen de haven van Antwerpen en het zuiden van Europa. |
