English: This statue of a donkey, found by preservationist Roger Webb in an antique market in Florence, was placed in front of Boston's Old City Hall in 1998. The story that it represents the Democratic Party, the dominant one in Boston politics for over a century, is apocryphal; apparently Webb, who owns the building, just liked the look of it. However, for major and more confusion, a couple of footprints with elephants was later placed were the donkey supposedly stares at.
