Description585 and 587 Broadway, Chadderton - geograph.org.uk - 1083455.jpg
English: 585 and 587 Broadway, Chadderton, Greater Manchester, England. Semi-detached houses built about 1938–39 on Broadway, a road completed in the late 1920s. The houses on this part of Broadway were built with Accrington brick, so dense that even modern drills have difficulty making a hole in them, and roof timbers of size and quality unobtainable and unaffordable after the Second World War. The two houses' paint schemes are typical of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Brown for one, eau-de-nil for the other. For a 2010 update picture, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1675903
